An unknown suspect entered a property through an insecure/open kitchen window and carried out an untidy search of the address. During the incident, keys to a vehicle were stolen. The suspect then exited via the front door and made off with the victim's vehicle. Stolen Vehicle Details: The vehicle was driven away from the cul-de-sac in an unknown direction. Crime Prevention Advice🔐 Ensure all doors and windows are locked and secure, even when at home. 🔑 Keep vehicle keys out of sight and away from doors, windows and letterboxes. 📡 Consider using a Faraday pouch to protect keyless entry vehicles from relay theft. 🎥 CCTV, video doorbells and security lighting can act as excellent deterrents and provide valuable evidence. 👀 If you witnessed anything suspicious, saw this vehicle, or have CCTV/dashcam footage that may assist, please report it via 101 or online quoting the relevant crime reference number. Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between AS ABOVE to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
As a precaution, please check that your door locks are secure and correctly fitted. We recommend anti-snap locks with a 3 Star rating, certified to either TS007 or SS312 standards. These locks are available from many locksmiths and security providers. Whilst we do not wish to alarm residents, it is always worthwhile reviewing your home security and reporting anything that seems suspicious. If you have any information regarding this or any other burglary, please contact us on 101. Thank you for helping to keep our communities safe.
